MEET IN MIDLOTHIAN MEETS GROWTH FUND CRITERIA

"Meet in Midlothian", a sub-group of the Midlothian Tourism Forum, was recently awarded £3125 from Visit Scotland to promote their business tourism brand.

Meet In Midlothian will offer an affordable tourism package in Midlothian unique venues.  The venues included within the group include Scottish Mining Museum, Newbattle Abbey College and Dalhousie Castle & Aqueous Spa.  The group will focus its campaign on targeting the UK business tourism market to capitalise on the economic climate and businesses demand for cost-effective meeting venues.

Marketing activity that the group will carry includes search engine optimisation of their website, targeted e-marketing campaigns, press trips and attendance at key business tourism events.

The VisitScotland Growth Fun is part funded by the European Union and is designed to support tourism groups throughout Scotland in marketing their products and servuces ti naximum potential.  The fund is open to national, regional and local groups to help them reach new target markets and increase visitor numbers.  The fund can support groups with 50% of approved total marketing costs over a one year period.

To date 14 groups across Scotland have achieved funding from the VisitScotland Growth Fund since its launch in August 2008.
