The "Friends" is an independent organisation of people who wish to support the museum and encourage its development. A small committee is elected annually to manage the organisation. How can the "Friends" support the Museum? As volunteers working in the library, cleaning and repairing machinery, helping with exhibition, photography and gardening. As individuals helping with special events, providing artefacts and documents, writing accounts of their experiences, keeping in touch with the museum. Collectively by funding special projects from subscriptions and donations of members. What are the benefits of being a Friend? - Quarterly Newsletter, The Coalface* - Visits to other attractions - Talks and film shows - Invitations to special events - Access to the museum - An opportunity to use your skills to help the museum FRIDAYS AT TWO Fridays at Two is a series of talks and tours taking place on the first Friday of each month at 2pm, in conjunction with the Friends of the Scottish Mining Museum.
